Subject choice is ok. Technicals (focus, exposure, etc...) are fine. I'd probably lose the base and tighten it up some (lose a little of the negative space). All JMO of course. Good luck!

great color and lighting and contrast, would just like to see a slightly different composition.. looks like you were trying for the rule of thirds but were a little close to center... try making a making the bulb a little smaller and a smidge to the left with a few extra inches of black added to the top of the picture making the bulb around 1/3 the hieght of the pic. i would love to have captured this the way you did though.

You did good on this shot. I tried something similar and it turned out bad so I did not enter. Nice exposure between the light and the dark background. That is hard to do. Your light is slightly off center. Whether by design or not, I don't know. I would say a square crop without as much negative space would be more compelling.

Great concept & nice arrangement. Not sure how, but they cherries almost look like they were drawn on the background - they look very flat. The harsh highlights also don't help.
