"... Inside out, and round and round."by DjangoComment by shamer: The background seems to suggest that this wasn't shot upside down, but even if it was such perspective doesn't seem to be a key component of your composition. Yes, I suppose the spider is considered upside down but I'd expect to se his feet up in the air to feel he was upside down, you know? |

Irrational lottery numberby DjangoComment by timfythetoo: Greetings from the Critique Club -
Nice simple image here. You easily met the challenge.
Never would have guessed it was an egg. I think if you used a highe raperture you would have caught more detail. AS it is it seems a bit soft. Not terribly so, but a bit more focus could have been nice. The light looks pretty good and the shadow is good. I really like that yoru horizon is level and actually intersects the egg at a pleasing point. A crooked horizon line would have really lessened the impact of this image.
This image to me is calling for a big border. A thin black line around the shot and then a fairly thick white border would have been nice IMO. Dont know how other voters would dig it, but it might give it a more complete feel to the image overall.
Really not a bad score. 5.8 for your second challenge is really good. My first four entries were all well below 5. Use this site to you rfull advantage. There is alot to be learned here and people willing to help. Most of all try and have fun here. This place is ablast. Welcome to DPC and good luck in the future!

Baby's mouth bubblesby DjangoComment by Melethia: Greetings from the Critique Club!
First impression - To be honest, it wasn't my idea of an appealing subject on first glance. But I do appreciate that it's an excellent "macro" - very well lit, excellent sharpness and focus, and quite representative of baby bubbles.
Technically, as I mentioned, it's well done. The totally picky would point out the blown spot on the chin, but I had to go looking for something to pick on - it certainly doesn't jump out at you. I think I'd almost like the lips less on the center horizontal - maybe include a bit of the nose.
In the end, after studying it for awhile, it really is a sweet picture. I'd say you definitely won over the parents of young chilren with it! |

Irrational lottery numberby DjangoComment by kteach: Looks like the texture of an egg... Now I'm picturing a bunch of eggs being tossed around the inside of a lotto ball machine now. What a mess! Nice shot though :) |
