Lonely Seasby IznastYComment by gazdi: My first comment was not detailed enough, sorry. I try to correct it now. I'd mask three different areas on the original shot (water, sky, ship) and apply different postprocessing techniques on them (curves on sky to enhance the blues and brighten the clouds, mostly dodge on ship, mostly burn on water if any). But before anything, I'd level the sea and clone out the sensor dust spots.
I just checked your expo. While 1/4000s at ISO400 seems equivalent to 1/1000s at ISO100 (apart from noise) I found that longer expo almost always means more detail in shadows. You know what I mean, instead of dodging at PP, try to use slower shutter during shooting. |
