Atlanta Capitalby AriskenComment by rex: Critique Club
Well. There is a lot IMO that can be improved upon here. I think a portrait crop would work great here. As it is now the trees are in the way and the statue takes my attention away from the capital building. The focus sems a little off but you could probably fix that witha slight sharpen. The color in the sky is a nice bright blue that makes the building stand out. I would say with the time that you took it that a tripod and a longer shutter speed would help you. The lighting on the capital shows up good but everything else is very dark. Also the building looks tilted and that probably hurt you more than anything on your score. |

Atlanta Capitalby AriskenComment by littlegett: instead of landscape, this should have been shot in portrait. and closer to the main focus of this image, which I assume is the dome. The bottom building distracts, and you can not clearly see the peek of the dome. |

Atlanta Capitalby AriskenComment by MTPixels: Great job of using the natural trees and lines of the roof to guide the eye to the focal point of the dome. Well done! |

Atlanta Capitalby AriskenComment by DrAchoo: Damn those trees! They aren't terrible, but they do limit the shot. Nice exposure and this is one of my favorite shades of blue for sky. |

Lower Desoto Fallsby AriskenComment by idnic: GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB...
I know those falls (I grew up in North Georgia). I do like the silky look of the water, but there is a slight bluish cast to it. That can be corrected by adding yellow or removing blue from your image - there are several methods of doing this. Compositionally I think some foreground interest would give this image the added POP needed to score above 6.0. Overall a nice waterfall shot. |

There Was Water tribute "tazza"by AriskenComment by BMacD: Hi! Here’s a comment from the Critique Club.
First Impression:
Nice water fall. Good motion in the water and nice detail in the rocks
Composition:
Very centered head on shot. Bottom looks interesting. Could more of it been shown?
Subject:
Meets challenge, but definitely took a different perspective from the original shot.
Technical:
Unfortunately you didn’t include any camera settings or post processing information. I can only guess at what you were trying to do. DOF is good, exposure time captures the water motion well. Some cloning could have gotten rid of some of the distracting white spots on either side of the waterfall.
Suggestions:
In the future could you please include camera settings and pre and post processing steps. It helps us appreciate your photo better.
Summary:
Congrat’s on your second 6+ picture. Excellent for only 4 challenges. This was a really tough challenge. You got a 6.152 and only scored 67th! That’s frustrating. Looking forward to many more excellent photos.
