Family Portrait (1920's style)by MichaelsinkComment by redmoon: voted this with a 4. i think the "1920's style" concept would have been more effective if it was monochrome, or sepia or somesuch. it also feels a messy photograph in terms of set up, and lessens the impact as a result. maybe having fewer pieces of kit in the frame (such as just the two canon SLRs?) might make it more balanced. it also feels tilted, and the sigma flash looks odd pointing upwards. there just feels to be too much here. |

Sleeping Beauty (an Angel in the night)by MichaelsinkComment by Jaded_Housewife: I agree that the light is a little too bright in spots and theres way too much arm in the shot. I gave it a five which is better than you averaged but generally my low. like a 5 for trying. looking at it here id think more of a 6 or 7 by my standards but for me to have given it a 5 it must have just been lost in comprision to some other really good shot. thats my best guess. |

Sleeping Beauty (an Angel in the night)by MichaelsinkComment by JH: Nice expression on her face. But I see two issues;
- The composition allows her arm to dominate the shot.
- The colour blue is not very attractive when applied to skin... It looks like she's either dead or frozen :) |
