Vibrant Nine'sby Kempostudent3Comment by Leo: Interesting processing, negative sepia? I like it for it's abstracky quality, but I don't know how the rest of the DPC crowd will like it... Good luck on the challenge. |

Worn Classicby Kempostudent3Comment by dtremain: You might try a 2nd light source, on the opposite side. In this shot, your lighting is semi-strong and from the left only. It fades quickly so the back of the board is too dark (the black pieces almost fade into the background). Also, it makes strong shadows and hot spots on the various pieces.
Your arrangement of the pieces is very nice, and the shot invites one in to play the game.

Worn Classicby Kempostudent3Comment by kmusser: Nice photo. I like chess myself so I do find this appealing. The square(s) is somewhat hidden under and around the pieces so I can't say its the main focus. |

Slow Decayby Kempostudent3Comment by kmusser: Very nice illustration of life and death. A little more light would have enhanced the life in this photo. |
