Comment by Maverick:
Good concept, but the flash is a little harsh on this. If the lighting in the room is bad, I would try shooting on a tripod without flash and brightening it if necessary afterwards

Lovely bird.... (I have a Congo Grey & a Pionus myself). As far as the photo, I would have chosen a plain background so as not to distract from your nice photo composition. Also, I might have tried to use more natural light instead of a flash (caused distracting shadows behing bird). Like the title for this shot!

Very creative, but you need to work on your lighting. Looks like an on camera flash with way too much glare. A side light or two her would have really cut the glare and brought out the colors.

Very good. Maybe just a hair dark but really good photo. Good composition with really good execution. Only fault I can find, like I said, is maybe just a little dark, especially under the bridge and at the vry end of the bridge. If you're going to let me see under there I want to see under there. But it really doesn't hurt the photo that much. Still an 8.

This is a pretty shot, but hard to look at. It all kind of blends in together. Not sure how that could be fixed at all, other than doing it in color, but the color in the shot probably wasn't very impressive this time of the year anyway. Focus and clarity seem very nice. was a wide angle lens used for this? I wonder because of the strange angle of the trees to the left. I think you made a good decision to go black and white, just wish there was more seperation. Good luck in the challenge.
