Emotion In Sculptureby courtenay27Comment by DennisF: There is a lot of motion in the image. I would like to have seen the whole statue. I think less background clutter would have been beter for this shot. Lighting is a little flat. |

Emotion In Sculptureby courtenay27Comment by ChrisW123: Well first of all.... the angle of the picture is GREAT because it gives the feeling of the woman swinging the child around! The lighting is OK but a little dark. |

Don't sit!by courtenay27Comment by Kavey: I really love the DOF here - infact great use of DOF features in a lot of my 10s, 9s and 8s this week.
Wonderful composition and colours too.
Only marred by that one bright spot at back left. Could it have been avoided with a reflector or someone blocking that shaft of light with their hand?

Don't sit!by courtenay27Comment by Swashbuckler: Ouch, don't let them stab you in the eye! (I know!) Good color and nice framing. Interesting shot with a fairly narrow DOF. While I like the idea, I think the outer most tip needs to be the focal point, with the rest getting fuzzier. Macro shots are more difficult to convey the idea of direction (as in looking down), but I do accept this shot for this challenge. 6 Swash |

Don't sit!by courtenay27Comment by e301: Love this macro DOF effect - did you try one that focussed precisely on the point of the leaf? I would imagine it might have had more impact ... Good work. |

Toaster Art?by courtenay27Comment by DennisF: Kudos for trying a "shiny object shot". I tried some and was not successful. May I suggest a tighter shot on maybe the corner of the black and chrome to really do something abstract. I did find that one needs strong lighiting for the shiny ojects, but it must be diffused - I had a little luck with a piece of paper in fron of a lamp BUT DON't LET IT CATCH ON FIRE.) |
