Blue Autumnby RichiComment by Alecia: CC
this has the makings of an awesome photo! the colors are fabulous and the composition great. i love the starkness of the branches against the sky, and then the contrast of the dark shadows against the white branches! i also really like how the trunks fan out in opposite directions and the smaller branches spread out to meet them---gives the whole picture sort of an "organized chaos" sort of feel! :) i wonder if you had crouched down and shot more upwards if it would have looked even cooler? technically---this is where i am having a hard time. i feel like something is wrong but cant really place my finger on it? is it slightly out of focus? or is it oversharpened? i really cant tell because it just seems to make my eyes feel all jittery! other than that, however, it is a great photo! keep up the good work! |

Blue Autumnby RichiComment by timj351: There's definitely plenty of blue in this photo but to be honest I find it somewhat ordinary. The tree branches provide some interest but it just needs something more to it. Technically it is fine and in nice focus. |

Blue Autumnby RichiComment by muckpond: A nice, simple photo against a great-colored sky. There is a lot of jpeg artifacting around the edges of the branches, which makes them lose a little of their sharpness. If this could be sharper, this would be an excellent image. Probably very effective in b/w too, even though that's not the point of the challenge. muckpond |

Small and still beautifulby RichiComment by PTLParsons: Small ain't the word for it. Great way to display just how small. Hope you haven't committed a crime. Your fingerprints are clear enough to convict you. But the flower is just a little soft. The only other thing I see is whatever is on the right side. I'd a cropped it out. Still you con't complain about an 8. PTL |

Small and still beautifulby RichiComment by ambaker: To me it seems a dark and contrast possibly a bit low. The reddish object on the right side of the frame, competes for attention. I do like the sense of scale that the fingers give to the flower. 5 |

Small and still beautifulby RichiComment by FranziskaLang: challenge -- met. the fingers add a nice sense of scale to the shot. that flower really is tiny! technical -- the focus seems to be on the fingers, rather than the flower. that's a hard one to get right in macro photography with the shallow DOF ... composition -- i'm slightly distracted by the thing to the right of the fingers. what is it? it doesn't look like it belongs in the shot. -- gr8photos. |

Small and still beautifulby RichiComment by joanns: The flower is not in sharp focus and I would have liked to have seen the flower on a tabletop or background other than being held. That's probably why the flower isn't sharp. It sure is a little one! |
