Comment by soccerdad:
A little less DOF would have made the details on the ceiling blurr a bit and focused the eye on the net, which is the real story in this shot.

Good angel. Seems a litle grainy or pixaleted. Would have given it thighter corping from below. Think also that shallower DOF would have been better to blurr out the background a bit.

A nice photo, and a creative interpretation of the challenge. Colour and focus is good. The border perplexes me... Although borders are valid parts of the competition, they are intended to enhance the photo without changing it. This border, although it very definitely improves the *design* of the photo, arguably *changes* the photo. I'm not sure whether this matches the spirit of the competition. I was unsure whether to add points for the clever design of the border or take points off because it alters the photo itself. Final score 6, I decided to take a point off because others don't use such borders and therefore it could be considered an unfair advantage.

I think if the liquid was a lighter colour (a nice amber single malt comes to mind. :-) This would have been more effective, but still an 8 for me...

One of my three favorites in the Habit challenge. This type of shot has been done many times before, but for me this is an example of a fresh take that has a lot of impact for me. Very well executed IMHO.

I like this one
the only problem seems to be that the reflection is washed out, maybe there is to much general light in the front
I think if you crop the the reflection out at the start of the alcohol and reduce the white space at the top to balance the new reflection you would end up with a much bolder picture - 8

I really like the composition and colors in this shot. The only thing that I would do is try to use a polaring filter (if you can use one on your camera) to eliminate the reflections and glare from the glass. This would make this shot a 10.

Comment by hopper:
The out of focus areas are so out of focus it make it seem photoshopped (I see that it wasn't). My eyes are drawn to the rust color on the left, but I can't all make out what it is (yet I keep staring at it rather than the flower). Still, I gave you a 7.

Nice variation in colors and textures. The tight focus though leaves little to spend time with.

A 6.
