I think you might get a better looking image if you allowed the shapes of each object to show. Also, perhaps a bit of sharpening? I do like the DOF though.

IMO, all the "tan" army being OOF and in the foreground detracts from the shot. Also, the lighting is very harsh - with strong, well-defined shadows on the soldiers, the cloud, and the string holding up the cloud. Unless the harsh light was intentional, you can decrease the shadows a lot by using another light source on the opposite side. Your shot is creative.
