Blue Laceby SamaraComment by photom: The patterns in the glass are great - clearly demonstrating backlight. There is something about the coposition that is bothering me - I think because there is just too much there. |

Blue Laceby SamaraComment by julianabanana: The "3 in a row" composition doesn't do anything for me. I do love blue glass, though. The blue at the top is distracting and it took me a while to figure out it was probably a shelf with more blue glass. |

Blue Laceby SamaraComment by redmoon: in terms of choice of materials, i think this is pretty good. the problems for me lies in location of the shot, and the angle of the shot. the camera is not in the best position here - if it were more to the left and more head-on then i think the shot would look better straighter. true, that would mean falling in to some level of conformity, which gives you a blander shot... but the window frame at such an angle is a major distraction. also, the lace net curtain, which i'm afraid is not often very photogenic. try a cheap sheet of perspex, or indeed a white sheet - either of which would have made the background a little less messy. the vase on the left is very pretty, and the transluscent appearance is very effective. it certainly fits the challenge, but really on a set-up like this, less is more. just one vase and a plain background might be worth playing with for a bit. 4. |

Blue Laceby SamaraComment by sibeling: too many vases, and the arrangement seems haphazard. I like the blue color, though, and how it matches the window |

Blue Laceby SamaraComment by margem: Really nice ide but a slight counterclock wise rotation would have helped the angle being off is distracting was sitting here leaning side to side to get a more level look to it. I wold have liked to see bit more of the shadow if possible. or isolating one of the vases for a more dramatic efect. This is an idea to play around with again it has a lot of potential |

Blue Laceby SamaraComment by SandyP: I love blue, so this picture really appeals to me. Good depiction of the backlighting challenge. |
